Our Latest Blessing!

I don't even know where to begin... On April 8Th Hailey had her first mild seizure. At the time we did not know what it was and just watched her through the weekend. Then the next week had two more. We went to visit her doctor and he ordered an EEG and some blood work. Well at the same time one of our dear friends who husband is a doctor had an MRI scheduled for us. Our worst nightmare came true. Hailey had a tumor the size of a dollar bill in her brain. I will never forget the phone call. Looking back I know God was in control. I did not receive a clinical"your child has a tumor" I was told by my friend and then her husband. The next few hours after are somewhat blurry because it went from being something we would just deal with after we got back from Hailey Regional gymnastics meet that she had worked so hard to qualify for to Get to the hospital it looks like we might be operating tonight! The Out poor of support from family and friend was amazing! On April 19 Hailey we in for a 9 1/2 surgery to remove part of the tumor. Then on April 26Th the went back in for another 6 1/2 hours to get almost the rest of it. Her tumor is a childhood Astrocytoma. Brain tumors are rare in kids but this is the most common found. Through this whole ordeal I was able to see the great strength of a small child who Faith NEVER wavered! She blew away many doctors and nurses with her speedy recovery and was able to show the great works of a big God! Hailey and I will be updating this blog with some of the things she does to make a comeback in gymnastics and be better than before because now she doesn't have a tumor attached to the mobility part of her brain. She is gonna be awesome! And her drive and determination will see her through this little speed bump in life that we now see as a huge blessing!

Life Flies By even faster...

I can't believe it is already mid November! Wow! The kids are growing and changing everyday. Hunter and Hayden are really loving school at Alpha Omega! Hunter is playing basketball this year. He is now standing 5'9. That is three inches taller than his mommy. Both boys just finished fall baseball. Hayden was so cute this year on first base! Hailey is still doing gymnastics. She is competing level 8 starting in January. The skills are getting harder, but she still loves it! Hannah is in pre-k at First Baptist Academy and is having a blast with Mrs. Heemann. She is just a ball of energy! I am amazed at all that she is learning! She really a smarty pants!

We are going back to Disney in January for a gymnastics meet and a little family fun. The kids are thrilled of course.

Our life couldn't be any crazier so we decided to add a little more to the plate and build a house. We will be starting that process this spring. I will be posting a bunch of this process on my blog so that I can journal this family memory. It is going to be an adventure!

Is it a school day today?

Hannah is already asking how many more days until she gets to go to Pre-K. She has been out of school for a week and she misses her friends already! I have a feeling this is going to be a long summer for her. For the rest of us it will just fly by. We went to the pool today and just had fun relaxing. Oh, how I love summer vacation!

Happy Memorial Day!

I am so proud to be from a family that believes in protecting our freedom. My grandfather, and dad were in the Navy and I have two brothers that are currently serving in the Navy. The sacrifice that those who lost their lives made can never be forgotten. I pray for Gods protection for all the men and women who serve in every branch of the military and for their families that are at home.

Astros Fans!

Through wins and losses we are still Astros fans! Our kids love to watch them play. We went to the game this Saturday with Poppy, Grammy, and Benjamin. It was fun even though we lost to the Rangers. Junction Jack and the Rangers mascot even came and sat with us.

Fairy Tale Theatre

Today was Fairy Tale Theatre in Haydens class. They came to our house for a pancake breakfast and the acted out fractured fairy tales. It was a hoot! The kids were very creative. Hayden was Hansel in Hansel and Gretal. Only one week of school left, and then my baby boy will be in the third grade.

Field Day

Hayden had Field Day at school yesterday. It was so much fun! The P.E. teacher did a great job putting it all together and the teachers manned the games and made it a special day for the kids. They mix the ages on the teams with kindergarten through forth grade. It really helps the kids work together and build team spirit. I was the adult team leader for my nephews team and he was so much fun to watch. They let Hailey be on our team even though she doesn't attend the school. It made her feel really special. Hayden was on the orange team and they got third place. Hunter ran a water balloon game and did a great job being in charge. He is really showing good leadership skills. All in all it was a fun day for everyone!
